More Problems for Nestle? And Heat Treated Flour for Their Doughs…
After two samples from the Danville, VA Nestle facility tested positive for e. coli, they have suspended production and will begin to implement the new ingredient of heat treated flour (and begin production again) around the end of January. The new cookie dough will be on shelves in March. Heat treating flours keeps contamination down and keeps food safety on the forefront.
The testing and immediate change in production and ingredient list is something every manufacturer should take note of.
