A sweet, shiny glaze for cakes, coffee cakes, and sweet quick breads.
Cooked Milk Icing
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1/2 cup evaporated milk
- 3 to 4 cups sifted powdered sugar
- 1 tablespoon corn syrup
- 2 teaspoon vanilla
Procedure
- In a heavy saucepan, place the sugar, evaporated milk, corn syrup and butter. Over low heat, stir constantly until the butter and sugar are melted. Remove from heat and add in the vanilla and powdered sugar. Start with 3 cups when mixing in and add in additional for desired consistency.
