Use dark brown sugar for a richer flavor.
Brown Sugar Caramel Icing
Ingredients
- 1 cup butter, unsalted
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 cups dark brown sugar, packed
- 4 cups sifted powdered sugar
Procedure
- Melt butter in saucepan over low heat, add brown sugar and stir. Add in milk and bring to boil, stirring to dissolve sugar. Remove from heat and allow to cool. Beat powdered sugar into the butter and milk mixture until smooth. This recipe may be halved
